Let’s talk about the hair growth cycle.

Your hair growth cycle has 3 stages which are happening all over your body and each hair is in its own phase of development.

Anagen- This phase is known as the growing phase. The hair is growing and completely connected to the blood supply. There is also return to anagen phase which is the brand-new hair growing and not yet seen above the skin. Depending on the body area your hair is growing determines how long it will stay in this stage. The length of your hair is determined by how long it is in the anagen stage for, your scalp can be in anagen stage for up to 6 years, but your eyebrows may only be in anagen for 6 weeks.

Catagen- This phase is known as the transitional phase. The bulb is no longer attached to the blood supply but remains in the follicle.

Telogen- This phase is the “resting” phase. The hair rests in the follicle and is slowly pushed out by the body ready for a new hair to grow.
